Court-Directed DNA Tests
Anglia DNA is accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation
Service to the ISO 17025 international standard for sibling, maternity and paternity tests. We are also accredited by the Ministry of Justice to carry out
parentage tests directed by the civil courts in England and Wales under Section
20 of the Family Law Reform Act 1969.
How is a DNA sample
taken?
It is a legal requirement that DNA samples for court or
legal proceedings must be taken by a registered Nurse or GP. Alternatively, a
member of our sampling team can visit a home address or solicitors office.
DNA samples are pain-free, using a simple mouth swab, rubbed
on the inside of each cheek of the participant.
Samples are then sent to our laboratory for analysis.
